I am OJOS MAGNIFICOS

A spirit soul. A fractal of source.

My vessel + experience is Brown, Andean South American Indigenous Diasporic.

MILALMAS - Genderfull, Androgynous.

I am a North Andean Colombian born, Miami raised, Brooklyn-based Trans-disciplinary Portal Creator.

The ideas and concepts within my work are manifested through Ancestral Tattoo Portal Ceremonies, Video Art,

Paintings, Written Decolonial Theory, Performance Art, Installations, Text, Audio, and Illustration work.

All which are created with the intention to communicate with the audience + self.

I am creating spiritual ancestral portals through my art, meant for shared transformative healing moments.

These time travel portal artworks aim to re-indigenize + realign our collective spirit & consciousness.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Maria Del Pilar (PILI) Lopez-Saavedra/PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS is a Colombian born, Miami raised, New York-based artist. They graduated from New World School of the Arts in 2015. In 2015, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS began their 5 year college journey.

In 2017, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS was featured in Colombia Fest Arte Joven and New Women’s Space’s Decolonize Your Body group show. Additionally, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS was awarded an MFA scholarship through a finalist position in PAFA’s 2017 exhibition Crosscurrents.

In 2018, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS finished an internship at Visual Aids.

Also in 2018, they were featured in Parsons BFA Junior group show, FIRE IN THE WET LAB. PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS was featured in various zine/magazine publications in 2018 including: NUMiNOUS Magazine: Taboo Issue, I Don’t Do Boxes: OUTlaws Issue, Reciprocal Art Mag, Molcajete Zine: A YEAR UNDER FASCISM.

Following Their first artist talk at El Sotano Art Space, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS co-curated Sentades en Silencio, a Latine/x indigenous group show centered around the theme of silence within/surrounding Latine/x indigenous communities which took place at The New Women’s Space.

In 2019, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS was featured in Mujerista Collective Zine Issue 3: Soy Mujerista, SPICY ZINE ISSUE 001, InQluded Issue 3: Break Borders & Binaries. As well as featured within 2019 group shows: MI GENTE, Performance is ALIVE, TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL GOOD, Shades of Eternal Night, In Honor of Our Roots @ The Legendary Langston Hughes House, God’s Pride: In Our Own Words, the Raices & Roots Festival, and “Remember Us” a group show benefitting NYC media collective Hydro Punk.

After Graduating with a Dual Degree Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Liberal Arts, with non western literature minors, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS was featured the 2019 Parsons AMT Exhibition and The 2019 Parsons BFA Thesis Show.

In 2020, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS was been included DECOLONIZING GENDER a queer BIQTPOC group show held at The People’s Forum. They were also part of the 2020 - DownBeat Collective.

From 2020-2021 PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS had the honor of Spirit Residency at AKTIV8 Underground Private Ceremonial Tattoo Studio. In 2021, Lopez-Saavedra was part of La Sala's LGBTQ+ Uptown Voices Project.

From 2020 - the Present moment PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS has been the Creative Director/ Album Consultant/ Songwriter for musical icon Manchado, together creating the world of their upcoming album: “PANORAMA".

From 2020 - the Present moment PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS has been the Creative Director/ Album Consultant/ Songwriter for the voice of the revolution, Santana Sankofa, together creating the world of their upcoming album: “ASHES”.

Maria Del Pilar (PILI) Lopez-Saavedra/PILI OJOS MAGNÍFICOS es une artista colombiane nacida en Miami, y trabaja en Nueva York y Baltimore. Se graduaron de la New World School of the Arts en 2015. En 2015, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS comenzó su viaje universitario de 5 años.

En 2017, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS fue presentado en Colombia Fest Arte Joven y en el programa de grupo de la nueva mujer Decolonizar tu cuerpo. Además, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS recibió una beca MFA a través de una posición finalista en el exhibición de PAFA en 2017 “Crosscurrents”.

In 2018, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS finished an internship at Visual Aids.

También en 2018, fueron presentados en Parsons BFA Junior grupo show, FUEGO EN EL LABORATORIO HÚMEDO. PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS fue presentado en varias publicaciones de zine/magazine en 2018 incluyendo: Revista NUMINous: Número tabú, I Do Nay Boxes: Número de Outlaws, Arte Recíproca Mag, Molcajete Zine: Un AÑO BAJO EL FASCISMO.

Después de su primera charla artística en El Sótano Art Space, PILI OJOS MAGNÍFICOS co-curó “Sentades en Silencio”, un grupo Indígena Latine/x centrado en el tema del silencio dentro/alrededor de las comunidades Indígenas Latine/x tuvo lugar en El Nuevo Espacio de Mujeres.

En 2019, PILI OJOS MAGNÍFICOS apareció en el Colectivo Mujerista Zine Número 3: Soy Mujerista, ZINE PICANTE NÚMERO 001, InQluded Número 3: Break Borders & Binaries. Además de aparecer en 2019 espectáculos en grupo: MI GENTE, Performance is ALIVE, TECNOLOGÍA Y BIEN SOCIAL, Shades of Eternal Night. Y En Honor de Nuestras Raíces - The Legendary Langston Hughes House, God’s Pride: En nuestras propias palabras, The Raices & Roots Festival, y “Remember Us” un programa de grupo que beneficia al colectivo de medios de Nueva York Hydro Punk.

.PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS fue presentado la Exposición de Parsons AMT 2019 y el Espectáculo de Tesis de Parsons BFA 2019.

2020 Graduado BAFA The New School/La Nueva Escuela, Con una Licenciatura en Artes y en Artes Liberales AutoDesignadas: Arte como Práctica Espiritual Social, Negocios para Organizaciones Alternativas, Historia Feminista No-occidental y Estudios de Cultura, Literatura no-occidental menor
En 2020, PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS fue incluido en el programa DE DESCOLONIZACIÓN DE GÉNERO, un queer grupo Negro Indígena Queer Trans Gente de Color (NIQTQDC)/(BIQTPOC) / realizado en el Foro del Pueblo/ The Peoples Forum. También eran parte del 2020 - Downbeat Colectivo.

Desde 2020-2021 PILI OJOS MAGNÍFICOS tuvo el honor de la Residencia Spirit en AKTIV8 Estudio privado subterráneo de Tatuajes Ceremoniales. En 2021, López-Saavedra fue parte del Proyecto Voces Uptown LGBTQ de La Sala.

Desde 2020 a El momento actual PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS ha sido Director Creativo/ Consultor de Álbum/ Compositor de Icono Musical Manchado, creando juntos el mundo de su próximo álbum: “PANORAMA”.

Desde 2020 a El momento actual PILI OJOS MAGNIFICOS ha sido Director Creativo/ Consultora de Álbum de la voz de la revolución, Santana Sankofa, juntos creando el mundo de su próximo álbum: “ASHES”.
