My Ancestral Tattoo practice is rooted in the traditions of

Black, Brown, Indigenous scientific & spiritual knowledge.

My tattoo practice understands tattoos to be ink + blood portals: Individualized areas of heightened energy consciousness activated through collaborative energy, consensual ancestral pain/blood offerings, affirmations, sacred imagery, anti-racist decolonial empowerment and spiritual/emotional release.

Tattoos are ancestral cultural markings. They are energy chambers that we allow to guide us and exist on our bodies for the rest of our lives.

I use spirit, faith, and breath to guide me through skin.

Each Ancestral Ink + Blood Tattoo Portal is unique

in design, prayer and ceremony.

"I dreamt of angel wings. Red wings, all around me. The wings cover me and my beloved, keeping us safe. Nothing and no one harms us. I felt pain behind my heart and lungs between my left shoulder blade and my upper spine. I had an old injury that was acting up, but it was worse than usual. Searing, tight, cumbersome. I woke up from the dream and the pain was gone. An angel visited my heart-body and my body-heart, and I was healed. Healed by six wings. Perhaps Uriel, Gabriel, Michael - who knows for certain? Something shifted within me. I felt safe and free. When Pili tattooed me, I asked for red. Brilliant, bright, bloody red. They tattooed me, putting the image of the six-winged protector on my back. "...I chose to do this ceremony as a rite of passage and designing it with Pili was a privilege. I felt safe and was able to be guided by my values in designing the tatu and the ceremony itself. Since then, I’ve been using my tatu much like an alter on my body; place to honor my ancestors and to connect us more deeply.
